The CommUnity Zone unites area nonprofit organizations and the people in our community through collaborations to conduct and support community education and build capacity to sustain and improve a quality of life for all community residents. We are particularly interested in ways to empower all voices in the achievement of personal goals.

The goal of the CommUnity Zone is to help create a strong and thriving community, which includes a vision in which all people are acknowledged for their contributions and enjoy equality of access by promoting the expansion of diversity and social justice in the Central Susquehanna Valley.  We aim to foster the creation of a world characterized by equal opportunity for and valuing of persons of all racial, ethnic and gender identities, sexual orientations and religious and secular affiliations.

We believe in creating a place where all members of the community and organizations that serve them share ideas, talents and resources that contribute to vibrant, caring and connected communities. It’s a grand idea, but one that deserves more of our attention. While each of us can make a difference, together we can make true and lasting change.
