Now that winter is over and the snow has finally melted, it’s time to think about what activities you and your family can do that will help you enjoy both the sun and the community. Here are some of our tips,
1) Take an adventure around town.
Get your family and friends together and enjoy the nice weather we’re expecting! Have a picnic at Soldier’s Memorial Park in Lewisburg or grab a bike and take a ride on the Buffalo Valley Rail Trail, which spans 9 miles from Lewisburg to Mifflinburg. Or, on a really nice day, take a drive down Route 15 and stop to enjoy some ice cream at the Lewisburg Freez!
2) Donate your time or belongings.
Whenever spring comes around, a lot of people feel the desire to clean out their closets and garage. Pay attention to what you’re getting rid of and if it’s in good enough condition, take it to your local Goodwill or Salvation Army. You can also give back to the community in other ways, too. Take some time out of your weekend and spend it doing something like the Susquehanna River Clean Up, which is taking place on Sunday, April 13th from 11am-2pm. Wear protective clothing and meet at the intersection of St. George Street and S Front Street.
3) Take a rainy day and turn it into fun.
Rainy days are an inevitable part of spring but that doesn’t mean they have to be spent bored and in bed! Rent a movie and get cozy on the couch or round up the kids and play a board game.
